SD10 Outdoor Education Documentary

The Outdoor Education program at Nakusp Secondary School is responsible for the design, manufacturing, and marketing of the Tri-Flasher. The Tri-Flasher project is just one of the many interesting features of this unique program.

Nestled in the West Kootenay’s of beautiful British Columbia. Nakusp Secondary School’s Outdoor Education program offers students a unique experience. The goal is to teach students how to safely enjoy our great outdoors.  Students get real life experience in survival, firearms/hunting, boating, avalanche awareness, ATV safety and more. Senior students graduate with many nationally and provincially recognized certificates including, Ground search and rescue (GSAR), CORE – BC Hunter Training, WHIMIS – workplace hazardous materials system, OSSA, food safe, first aid, traffic control and more.

Students from Nakusp Secondary School man a booth at the Vancouver International Boat Show. Students at Nakusp Secondary School are attending the show to market their Tri-Flasher fishing flasher. The students are part of the Outdoor Education program at the high school.

Students were in charge of all aspects of attending the show from registering for the show, designing and construction of the booth, press releases, promotional materials, logistics, and of course the manufacturing of the flashers.

The students are also manning a booth to promote tourism in the Arrow Lakes region, and running the fishing pond at the show.

Tri-Flasher – Tripple the flash at any speed

The Tri-Flasher is a unique fishing flasher that will change the fishing industry.  The flasher’s rotation remains constant even when the speed of the boat changes. Its unique action provides plenty of trailing flash. “Out flash, Out fish, Out catch at any speed”. See theTri-Flasher in action.
